Earlier this year, primo head-bangers Foo Fighters made eight fans temporarily lose their shit by playing a show in their garage. The accompanying 40-minute documentary should be a praise-wrought display of gratuitous wankery, and it sort of is (I’m referring here to the moment when Dave Grohl tells one of his hosts, “Lose the boner and we’ll play a couple more songs!”), but it also captures some touching exchanges between fan and rock star. One of the garage-owners introduces the Foos with a hearty, “If there’s a better rock ‘n’ roll band in the world… fuck, there isn’t!”, while another invites Mr. Grohl to drive his tractor. Bizarre, but interesting nonetheless.
