Garbage have announced a re-issue of their seminal album ‘Version 2.0’ in time for its 20th anniversary. The No.1 album features singles ‘I think I’m Paranoid’ and ‘Push It’ as well as bonus track ‘Lick the Pavement’ and is due to be rereleased on June 22. In addition to the original album, the re-issue includes posters and excitingly, rare b-sides accessible via multiple formats – CDs, vinyls and digital. =
Garbage singer Shirley Manson describes the album as “the quintessential Garbage record. We are all very grateful to the millions of people who took it to their hearts at the time and those who continue to love on it still.”
The album rerelease comes prior to Garbage’s upcoming UK tour. Manson also confirmed that Garbage are in the studio at present crafting a new album, due for release in 2019.
Garbage rose to success in 1995 when their debut self-titled album Garbage was certified double platinum in the UK, US and Australia. Over the course of their career, Garbage have achieved commercial success, written the theme song for the nineteenth James Bond film ‘The World is Not Enough’, been nominated for seven Grammy awards and two Brit awards. Their upcoming album will be their seventh, following Garbage in 1995, Version 2.0 in 1998, Beautiful Garbage in 2001, Bleed like Me in 2005, Not your Kind of People in 2012 and Strange Little Birds in 2016.
