FM104 just announced that Dublin’s local hero, Gavin James, was added to the lineup for this year’s charity concert, “The Gig”, in early autumn.
The gig will take place on Thursday, September 20, at the Olympia Theatre.
Fresh off a fantastic headline performance at the Trinity Summer Series last weekend, James is excited to keep rocking out in his hometown. Be sure to look out for a string of new singles that will lead up to his new album later this autumn. His latest release is posted below:
In addition to James, several other bands have been announced to perform that night as well: The Academic, The Blizzards and Wild Youth.

The Academic just released their first studio album, Tales From The Backseat, which debuted at No. 1 on the Irish music charts in January. The album’s first track, ‘Bear Claw’, has received glowing reviews from critics thus far. Check out the track below:
After a six-year hiatus, The Blizzards have returned with a new single ‘Show Me The Science’ which was also released earlier this year. The power pop group is said to drop a fresh record later this year as well. Give their song a listen here:
Wild Youth is also looking to drop a new album. The group made noise on the music scene last year with their debut single ‘All or Nothing’ and ‘Lose Control’ which received generous radio rotation. Hear their newest single, ‘Can’t Move On’, here:
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Dublin branch of the ISPCC. Their organization provides therapeutic care for children and works on creating legal policies to protect them.
