Gemma Bradley and Jess Kav's performances for Van Morrison's 75th birthday celebration are going live tonight.
Following stunning performances for 'Rave On, Van Morrison' last night, we're bringing you another special evening of back-to-back Van covers – with Gemma Bradley performing 'Sometimes We Cry', followed by Jess Kav performing 'Vanlose Stairway'.
Over the course of the YouTube event, celebrating Van Morrison's 75th birthday, you can expect even more renditions of his remarkable songs from some of the most iconic names in the country – including President Michael D. Higgins with Bill Whelan, Hozier, Sinéad O'Connor, Bob Geldof, Glen Hansard and Damien Rice, to name just a few.
Pop, R&B and folk singer-songwriter Gemma Bradley continues to bring her eclectic sound to Irish fans after featuring on the 2020 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Longlist. Embarking on the Other Voices Music Trail in Dingle and Derry, the artist recently released her new single ‘Obsessed’, following 2019’s acclaimed ‘Berserk’.
Armed with one of the most powerful voices in the country, Jess Kavanagh has found widespread acclaim as the lead singer of self-described ‘agrosoul’ group BARQ. Some of her career highlights include a lauded performance on Body&Soul’s Main Stage in 2018 and sold-out headliners with BARQ, as well as a special guest appearance during Hozier’s Electric Picnic set in 2019, to sing ‘Nina Cried Power’.
Gemma Bradley's performance of 'Sometimes We Cry' (7pm Irish Standard Time) and Jess Kav's performance of 'Vanlose Stairway' (8pm) premiere tonight, August 21, on the Hot Press YouTube channel.
