The music festival with an environmental edge
Vantastival takes place in Beaulieu House in Drogheda, Co. Louth from 31 May until 2 June.
King Kong Company, Afro Celt Sound System, Sharon Shannon, Join Me in the Pines, Wallis Bird, Lisa O'Neil, Cry Monster Cry, David Keenan, Thanks Brother, We Cut Corners, Just Mustard, The Young Folk, The Latchikos, Roe, Jinx Lennon, Pillow Queen, Bicurious
This much-loved boutique event celebrates its 10th birthday with an all killer, no filler Irish bill by the banks of the Boyne. Two of the must-see acts, David Keenan and Just Mustard, are Louth locals who'll doubtless get an extra loud cheer when they hit the stage. And rightly so! Along with its penchant for camper vans - hence the name! - the festival also goes the extra nine yards with its camping facilities, and supported by sustainability partners Repak ELT and Indaver, has a strong green ethos. As part of this, they're introducing a series of workshops and talks focusing on all aspects of event sustainability and wider environmental issues. Add in yoga, stand-up comedy, artisan food stalls and the Cully and Sully Campervan Cook-Off competition, and it's shaping up to be another Beaulieu House long weekend to cherish.
Hot Press Picks: Dundalk's Just Mustard have released a new single, 'Frank', which confirms that the considerable hype surrounding them is fully justified and David Keenan is a must-see.
