The Irish-Palestinian artist will feature on the night alongside Ruth Smith and Fergal Scahill
Roisin El Cherif has revealed that she'll be making a special guest appearance at the upcoming Gig For Gaza at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, on December 13. All proceeds from the show – which was curated by Paul Weller – will be donated to the organisations Medical Aid for Palestinians and Gaza Forever.
Other acts on the line-up include KNEECAP, Primal Scream, Paloma Faith, Liam Bailey, Lowkey, and Weller himself – plus guest speakers and short films.
Roisin, an acclaimed Irish-Palestinian artist, will be joined on the night by musicians Ruth Smith and Fergal Scahill. The pair previously contributed to her powerful track 'Siúil a Rúin', released earlier this year. Combining Irish, English and Arabic, the song raised funds for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF)’s Gaza Emergency Regional Fund.
Last month, Ruth and Fergal toured Ireland alongside Palestinian musicians Mohammad Kahla and Abed Alqam, to celebrate the rich folk traditions of both countries – with Roisin joining as a special guest for several shows.
