After teasing Paramore’s cover of 'Burning Down The House', Teezo Touchdown’s 'Making Flippy Flop' and Lorde’s 'Take Me To The River', A24 Music has revealed the full tracklisting and release date, which you can see below, for Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense.

The project is set to drop on 17th May and is available to pre-order now.

Another single has dropped alongside the announcement, which comes on the 40th anniversary of the Stop Making Sense at San Francisco Film Festival. For the fourth offering, Norwegian indie-pop artist girl in red covers ‘Girlfriend is Better,’ originally off 1983’s Speaking in Tongues and recorded live for Stop Making Sense.

On the heels of the release of her brand new album I’M DOING IT AGAIN BABY!, she delivers a vibrant new take on the track, highlighted by her funky, playful instrumentation and impressive vocals.

“Talking Heads is an iconic band that helped define my identity when I was a teenager and they continue to inspire young people all around the world,” girl in red, aka Marie Ulven Ringheim, says. “Being a part of this tribute is so sick and I’m super grateful I was given the opportunity. Talking Heads forever!!!!”

Recorded at three December 1983 shows at Los Angeles’ Pantages Theatre and released the following year, the original Stop Making Sense is widely regarded as one of the greatest concert films of all time. In it, Talking Heads are augmented by musicians such as Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Lynn Mabry and Ednah Holt, helping songs such as 'Once In A Lifetime,' 'Burning Down The House,' 'Life During Wartime' and 'Crosseyed And Painless' reach new creative heights.

Mirroring the tracklist of the original LP, these 16 exciting and utterly surprising reinterpretations will not only introduce a new generation of listeners to Talking Heads’ music but also offer fresh perspectives and unique takes on songs longtime fans have known by heart for decades. This selection of brilliant artists recontextualizes Stop Making Sense in modern popular music and culture, with a focus on generational and stylistic breadth.
