A college in Scotland is offering a course for Glasgow parents taking their children to Swift's gig in Edinburgh
In preparation for Taylor Swift's highly anticipated sold-out tour, Glasgow Clyde College is offering a free masterclass aimed at parents accompanying their children to the US singer's concerts in Edinburgh.
More than 2.9 million fans attempted to secure tickets for Swift’s The Eras Tour, and her sold-out shows at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh are expected to be watched live by approximately 215,000 people each night. Swift is set to perform in Edinburgh on June 7, 8, and 9, with crowd numbers anticipated to surpass Harry Styles' record for the biggest show in Scotland set in 2023.
The Taylor Swift masterclass provided by Glasgow Clyde College will cover various aspects of Swift's performance, including the setlist, her evolving wardrobe and hairstyles, as well as crowd chants. The course will also delve into Swift’s previous work, including her albums Fearless and Folklore.
Due to Swift’s fan base, which is largely aged between 16 and 25, many concert-goers are expected to be accompanied by a parent or sibling. The free masterclass aims to familiarize non-Swift fans with the artist’s music and performances so they can fully appreciate the iconic moments during the concert.
The one-off course will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 7 in the Innovation Centre at GCC’s Langside Campus.
Robert Anderson, Curriculum Assistant Principal at GCC, stated, "Taylor mania doesn't seem to be slowing any time soon, and we expect it'll reach its peak here in Scotland in June. We understand that not everyone will be up to speed on all things Taylor and might not get the full Eras experience. That's why we created this masterclass to prepare those who'll be heading along to the gig with their superfan kids, friends, or partners to ensure they have just as memorable a time."
