Glen Hansard has announced a string of UK dates for 2024, touring his new album All That Was East Is West Of Me Now
Singer-songwriter and former Frames frontman Glen Hansard had today shared news of a solo acoustic UK tour set for April 2024.
Hansard recently released his new album, a collection of songs about life getting closer to completion than commencement, philosophically titled All That Was East Is West Of Me Now. A record that is noisy and meditative as well as sprawling and hypnotic, it is one of Hansard’s most rollicking record since his Burn the Maps-era with The Frames, having won four-star reviews from Mojo and Record Collector.
Hansard recently performed the album track 'There’s No Mountain' on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The recording of All That Was East Is West of Me Now came together in the weeks that followed November 2022.
The LP was produced by Hansard's long time co-conspirator David Odlum (Tinariwen, Sam Smith) at his home studio on the outskirts of Dublin.
The process of recording, as of songwriting, according to Hansard: “must be an intuitive leap into what feels right…”

“When it feels right, I usually run from it, mix it quickly before it collapses.” For the bulk of the record, Hansard was joined in the studio by fellow Frames alumni Joseph Doyle, Graham Hopkins, Ruth O’Mahony Brady, Rob Bochnik and honorary Frame Earl Harvin. Strings came courtesy from live contributors Gareth Quinn Redmond, Kate Ellis, Paula Hughes, Katie O’Connor and Una O’Kane.
Fans of Hansard based in Ireland however don't have to wait until April 2024 to see the 'Falling Slowly' star as he has a series of headliners announced in December 2023 for Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Galway and Cork.
Tickets for the newly announced solo acoustic tour of the UK go on general sale from Friday 8th December at 10am here.
