The Arkansas outfit’s previous single, ‘Bring Me To Life’, was certainly a breath of fresh air for the pop/rock crossover debate, and it was definitely heartening to hear it on daytime radio. ‘Going Under’, while lacking the very vivid filmic qualities of its predecessor, is still hugely bracing and emotive, with Amy Lee’s voice being more than able for the overtly grand scope of the song. Moreover, all this head-banging is making me feel like a girl of sixteen again. Hurrah!
