The station are going for the ratings jugular with the emphasis on homegrown shows
With UTV Ireland seemingly teetering on the ropes, TV3 have unveiled what they hope will be the knockout punch of their autumn schedule.
Over 45 hours of the station’s output will be broadcast live from Ballymount HQ.
New faces include Brian Ormond who will host a new game show, Wishlist, in which couples compete for prizes.
Red Rock, their successful soap, returned last night and Ireland AM has gone seven days a week with new Saturday and Sunday editions.
Pamela Flood will anchor Geriatric Mums while TV3’s Champions League will be bolstered by the arrival of Liverpool legend and notorious sourpuss (but in a good way!) Graeme Souness.
Other home-produced shows include Ireland’s Animal Rescue, Doctor In The House, Adoption Stories, Geriatric Mums, Thelma’s Communion Girls, Ireland’s Problem Pets, Conor Pope’s Dodgy Dealers, A Rough Guide To The Future, presented by Jonathan McCrea, a new documentary strand called Disclosure, The Joy, Donal MacIntyre Assassins: Paid To Kill and lots more
3e will be offering free to air coverage of UFC Night and the much-anticipated featherweight unification bout between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo.
“Autumn 2015 is a very exciting time to be the Director of Content at TV3, the home of all 48 games of the Rugby World Cup, it is hard to remember such a hotly anticipated sporting occasion as this,” reflects TV3’s Lynda McQuaid. “We will continue to build the newest schedule on television filled with programming that has real depth and we will never fail to surprise when it comes to acquisitions. In 2016 myself and my team want to lead us into a new phase of cementing our position as Ireland’s leading commercial broadcaster by finding, producing, commissioning and acquiring the very best content for both our advertisers and audiences.”
