The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir will release his first album of entirely original solo material in thirty years.
Blue Mountain will be out September 30. It features Josh Ritter and members of The National, who spearheaded the massive Grateful Dead tribute album Day of the Dead.
Weir is widely considered one of the greatest sidemen in all of rock music. He draws from jazz musicians like Bill Evans in his approach to rhythm guitar. A documentary about his life - The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir - premiered as a Netflix exclusive in 2015.
