As the first hip hop record to get more than just token plays on MTV, ‘Walk This Way’ opened doors for the likes of LL Cool J, Eminem, The Fugees, The Neptunes and Black-Eyed Peas that might otherwise have remained shut. One of 34 choons and vids to make it onto this multimedia retrospective, it’s a welcome reminder of the days when all you had to do to be old skool was remove the laces from your Adidas (they didn’t lower-case the first ‘a’ until the ’90s!)
