After selling out their 2022 tour for The Battle at Garden's Gate, Greta Van Fleet have announced the drop date of their upcoming third album Starcatcher
The rock band Greta Van Fleet have just announced the upcoming release date of their new album Starcatcher.
Dropping July 21, it will be the Grammy-winning band's third studio album after The Battle At Garden's Gate and Anthem of The Peaceful Army. Made up of Josh Kiszka on leading vocals, Jake Kiszka on guitar, Sam Kiszka on bass and keyboard, Danny Wagner on drums, and the producer Dave Cobb, the band wrote and recorded the album in RCA Studios in Nashville.
Already out is the rocking single 'Meeting the Master,' which dropped earlier this month. The American band explains that the single is a dark comedy and spiritual journey that "peers into an esoteric world heeded by the word of a wise teacher," sung from the perspective of a believer.

After selling out their entire 2022 tour, the new album was an endeavour to capture the energy they experienced on stage and on the road. 'Meeting The Master' is just the first glimpse into what the band has planned for the greater ten-track collection.
“We didn’t really have to force or be intense about writing, because everything that happened was very instinctual,” Jake says. “If anything, the record is our perspective, and sums up where we are as a group and individually as musicians.
Wagner adds that "We had this idea that we wanted to tell these stories to build a universe.”
“We wanted to introduce characters and motifs and these ideas that would come about here and there throughout our careers through this world.”
As a result, Starcatcher is meant to explore the "duality of fantasy versus reality and the contrast between light and darkness." Reintroducing ideas from their second album The Battle At Garden's Gate, it's a step forward onto new ventures.
“When I imagine the world of Starcatcher , I think of the cosmos,” Sam shares.

“It makes me ask a lot of questions, like ‘Where did we come from?’ or ‘What are we doing here?’ But it’s also questions like, ‘What is this consciousness that we have, and where did it come from?’”
