Greyworld
Talented singer must choose between good and evil.
Greyworld is a pop n’ reggae n’ soul record from Padraig Rush, a talented soloist with the Dublin Gospel Choir. He has a choice to make. You see, his passion and skill come through on songs like ‘Wandering Man’ and ‘Peacefully’, where the producer wisely strips things down, and he in turn shows a bit of vocal restraint, but elsewhere, overly-schmaltzy lyrics and strident vocalising strangle real emotion, the high production values clear away the grit, and it all starts feeling like “a very special evening with Curtis Stigers”. So Rushe is left with a Faustian dilemma. On one shoulder sits Chet Baker, Grant Lee Philips and Bob Marley, and on the other sits Michael Bolton. What will he choose?
Key Track: 'Peacefully'
