The original work was described by the singer herself as a concept album about an “anthropomorphic goddess of climate change”, where each song is “a different embodiment of human extinction."
Grimes has announced a Miss Anthropocene remix album is incoming – due to arrive on January 1.
The electro-pop eclectic musician and producer shared her fifth album in 2020, five years after her critically acclaimed fourth LP Art Angels.
An album featuring reworkings of Miss Anthropocene tracks will be released, featuring contributions from BloodPop, Richie Hawtin and more.
The latest project also includes two remixes that Grimes premiered in a recent DJ mix for Apple Music.
On December 19th, Grimes updated the artwork for her most recent album after originally sharing the imagery back in April:
“I polled a bunch of ppl and everyone said not to use it (??) but I wish I trusted my gut. I fucking LOVE this painting,” she wrote on Instagram.

"The album ends on a note of positivity with a sweeping epic that’s the aural equivalent of a flock of swallows in full flight. It’s a gorgeous and gloriously uplifting way to end an album that is, for the most part, an uneasy listening experience," Hot Press wrote of the work back in February.
