Grimes shared the snippet across social media, asking her fans if they thought the song should be her new single.
Grimes has released a short clip of an unreleased song to her social media, posting a video across her accounts with the caption "my label thinks this isn't a single what do y'all think? Imo this song shud have a music video."
The clip teases an EDM-inspired, dance bop, and the accompanying video shows Grimes bathed in pink light, dressed in white, and dancing in slow motion to the new song, called '100 Percent Tragedy' on TikTok.
New music is certainly on the horizon for Grimes fans, as the artist recently revealed details about the follow up to her 2020 Miss Anthropocene album.
The artist's new project is going to be a "space opera" about about a lesbian AI being.
A fan asked what the "vibez" would be for the next record under one of Grimes' Instagram posts, and the musician answered at length.
“It’s a space opera about CLAIRE DE LUNE – an artificial courtesan who was implanted in a simulation that is a memory of the AI creation story on earth, from the brain of the engineer who invented AI because he wants to re live his life, but see if his perfect dream girl could teach him to love and thereby he would preserve humanity this time rather than let them fade into obscurity – overcome by the machines.

“As she slowly realizes she is essentially a dancing puppet for the male gaze tho, their relationship grows complex. Simultaneously – “NO ONE” (the most powerful super intelligence in the future, where the simulation is being rendered from) realizes there’s a massive hyper-realistic sim running and sends in her troll AI puppets to wreak havoc.”
