Tickets for the Californian garage rock outfit's Dublin gig are on sale tomorrow.
After announcing their sixth studio album, Natural Affair, last week, The Growlers have revealed that they're heading to Dublin's Button Factory on February 25, 2020.
Together for almost 15 years, the Californian group, fronted by Brooks Nielsen, have dubbed their unique sound 'Beach Goth', drawing from their locality's musical history of surf, indie, psychedelic rock and garage. Natural Affair follows 2016's City Club, produced by Julian Casablancas, which saw them delve into new elements, including synths and dance music. The new album's title track was released earlier this month.
“A lot of our songs were coming out on the darker, more sentimental side, so we decided to make something more upbeat,” says guitarist Matt Taylor. “We all took a break, watched a documentary on Spandau Ballet, and wrote this riff that sounds a bit like ‘The Groove Line’ by Heatwave."
Tickets for The Growlers' Dublin gig are €24, and go on sale on Thursday at 10am.
