The full line-up of guests has been announced for The Hit, the new RTÉ One series, which finds young songwriters pitching their wares to established artists.

The hit-makers in question are:

July 26 – The Stunning & Julie Feeney

August 2 – Brian Kennedy & Ryan O’Shaughnessy

August 9 – Johnny Logan & Duke Special

August 16 – Samantha Mumba & Republic Of Loose

August 23 – Mundy & Finbar Furey

The five weekly winners go through to the Grand Final, which takes place in the Dublin O2 and let’s them call on the RTÉ Concert Orchestra for musical accompaniment.

Giving advice along the way is Steve Lillywhite, that most inveterate of producers whose CV includes U2, The Killers, Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads and The Pogues whose Peace And Love album he's currently giving a 25th birthday remix to.
