Dublin post-punk band Gurriers have recorded a cover of Oasis’ 'Columbia' in their session for BBC 6 music.
The cover marks the release of the new BBC podcast The Rise and Fall of Oasis.
The track hails from Oasis’ iconic 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe, set to get a 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition on August 30, 2024. The original record became the fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK.

Liam Gallagher is currently on the road for his Definitely Maybe 30 Years Tour, which hit Limerick’s Thomond Park last Sunday, described by Hot Press as an “unforgettable night of rock ‘n’ roll.”
Meanwhile, Gurriers are set to release their debut album Come and See on September 13. The accompanying Irish headline tour will kick off on November 14 in Limerick and will take the band to Belfast, Listowel, Dublin, Galway and Cork across the month of November.
They also released their latest single ‘Approachable’, a track which humorously responds to the political state of the world, earlier this month.
