Irish post-punk rockers Gurriers have announced that they’ll be performing on Later with Jools Holland on October 19.
They’ve also shared a humorous new video for their track ‘Dipping Out’ from their recently released debut album Come and See, which dropped last month.
Directed by Colin Peppard, the band describe the clip as “post-post-punk version of an Adam Curtis documentary”.
A tour across the UK, Ireland and Europe awaits the outfit, with shows in Dublin and Cork already sold-out. Other Irish dates across November include gigs in Limerick, Belfast, Listowel and Galway, with a support slot for Kneecap also limed-up at the SSE Arena on December 21. Taking their name from the Irish slang for ruffian, or street urchin, Gurriers formed in January 2020, initially comprising Dan Hoff on lead vocals, Ben O'Neill on guitar and backing vocals, Mark MacCormack on guitar, Pierce Callaghan on drums and Emmet White on bass, who has since amicably left the band and been replaced by Charlie McCarthy.

Coming from from various parts of Ireland, the band initially met and formed in the capital, taking the pandemic as their opportunity to hone their craft before their first show at Workmans Club in 2021.
Their noisy, high-octane rock tunes cover various quandaries of our time, whether that be how modern narcissism is fuelled by an addiction to online personas ,the disillusionment of contemporary youth or tongue-in-cheek anthems mourning the rise of the far right.
