GOTA are headed to the Button Factory, and will release a new single and music video in the meantime.
Today, indie four piece Gypsies on the Autobahn announce an upcoming single and music video. Taken from their critically-acclaimed second album, 'Rubicon' is out 18 October. The release coincides with their biggest headline show to date on 15 November at The Button Factory in Dublin.
Having just released their second album Suspended over the summer, Gypsies on the Autobahn are now releasing their third single from the album, 'Rubicon', along with a thought-provoking video written and directed by frontman James Smith.
"In the lead-up to writing 'Rubicon', Niall and James had come to blows and were not speaking to each other," explain the band. "Eventually Niall came in with this bass line, which was what broke the silence between them. Working in close proximity with each other for so long there is ultimately going to be conflict; luckily this conflict gave us 'Rubicon'."
The accompanying music video was shot and edited by Oliver Kelly and Alex Lynch and starring Laura Brady and Tadhg O’Rourke.
"The video is about two people who can’t talk, moving between reality and the other side," explain the band. "It's a dark and surreal look at relationships and conflict."

Their second album, Suspended brings a more mature sound and central theme of hope born from moments of struggle. Talking about writing the record, James said his writing process had evolved into an introspective search for personal hope.
This theme comes through in the album, affirms Hot Press's Edwin McFee. "Based around a central theme of hope born from moments of struggle, it’s a more assured beast than its predecessor, brimming with confidence and class."
The single and music video for 'Rubicon' are set for release on 18 October and tickets for their 15 November Button Factory gig are available for 15 here.
