H.E.R follows up her recent success with an inspiring debut album.
H.E.R has dropped her highly anticipated debut album, Back Of My Mind today (June 18).
The Californian R&B artist shared the much-anticipated 79-minute project, which includes impressive features from Ty Dolla $ign, Cordae, Lil Baby, Thundercat, Chris Brown, Yung Bleu, DJ Khaled, Bryson Tiller and YG.
The 21-track project was produced by high-profile artists, with Kaytranada, Drake, Mike Will Made It, Hit-Boy and Rihanna all weighing in with. their skills.
H.E.R also co-produced ‘Hard to Love’ and ‘For Anyone’. ‘Damage’ features a sample of Herb Albert’s ‘Making Love In The Rain’ and Lauryn Hill’s ‘The Sweetest Thing’ is sampled on ‘Cheat Code’.
Much of the album grapples with relationship issues with some political cuts throughout from H.E.R, whose real name is Gabi Wilson. She announced the album last Friday (June 11) on social media and explained the message of the album.

H.E.R won a Grammy in March for her protest song ‘I Can’t Breathe’, which was written in response to George Floyd’s murder. She followed it up by scooping an Oscar for her song ‘Fight for You’ which was included in Shaka King's award-winning feature film Judas and the Black Messiah.
The singer-songwriter rose to prominence after releasing 2016's debut EP under the H.E.R. moniker, 'Volume 1' under RCA. This project was followed by four subsequent EPs, with her first compilation album H.E.R. (2017) consisting of tracks from her first two EPs plus six additional songs. H.E.R. was nominated for five Grammy Awards, winning Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Album.
