In other name-changing news Ellison 9 (formerly Derrick Devine and the Good Ship) have launched a new website at www.ellison9.com. Fronted by Devine on lead vocals with Sorcha Brennan on harmony vocals, their sound has been compared to the likes of Calexico, Deus, Sparklehorse and Nick Cave. The band are currently recording a mini-album which is set for release in April and promises to “rock and tip-toe in equal measures”…

In other events in the North, The Young Peoples Instinct Festival, 16 - 21 February promises to be “a unique opportunity for local youth to have fun while exploring the creative industries and multi-media art.” Workshops, talks, screenings, demonstrations and entertainment-a-plenty are the order of the day at various locations.
