The band has been hyping their upcoming album across social media for months now ahead of the release scheduled for later this summer.
California sister act HAIM performed their new single last night in front of a small crowd in downtown LA. The song, which they’ve been teasing in posts across social media, has confirmed speculation that the new single takes a jazzier direction.

Hot Press writer Alix Renaud wrote that a sample of the song released last week, “sounds heavily influenced by jazz, along with a groovy saxophone.”
The sample was in fact from ‘Summer Girl,’ as the same groovy saxophone could be heard joining in halfway through the clip to much applause from the audience.

As for the official release date, band member Danielle Haim revealed back in April that new music was on the horizon.
“Good news is we’re in the studio working on some new stuff that we are hoping to release before p4k [Pitchfork] fest in July,” she wrote. “Some of it is raw as fuck, some of it is for the dance floor, some of it is us just getting weird.”
The Chicago festival is set to begin tomorrow, so fans can probably expect more in the upcoming days from the Grammy-nominated band.
