The chart-topping pop singer describes a string of serious health struggles while announcing her upcoming album with opening track ‘The End’.
Grammy nominated alt-pop singer Halsey, a.k.a. Ashley Frangipane, said in a recent Instagram post that she is “lucky to be alive” amid a series of ongoing health issues. The post, which documents the 29-year-old’s intensive treatment plan, also announces Halsey’s upcoming album and the release of its eerie opener ‘The End’.

While she has not openly revealed her diagnosis, the young artist tagged both the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in her post and has made sizable donations to each organisation.
Known for her gut-wrenching lyricism and unabashed honesty, Halsey’s latest single comes as no surprise, diving into the mental and physical repercussions of serious health diagnoses.

“I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick,” she said in the Instagram video. “And at 30 … I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just gonna get to redo my twenties in my thirties.”
Previously diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, immune disorders Sjögren’s syndrome and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), Halsey first opened up to her fans on social media about the state of her health back in 2022, writing, “I’ve been sick. For a long time. My sicknesses just have their names now. I went to doctors for 8 years. Trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I was called crazy and anxious and lazy amongst other things. I changed my entire lifestyle.”
Today, Halsey has amassed over 50 billion global streams and received RIAA certification for all four of her studio albums, all while becoming the first artist ever to hit 1-billion Spotify streams on four different songs.
