A mistake during Harry Styles' live Grammys performance caused chaos, according to the dancers involved.
While performing 'As It Was' on Sunday night's Grammys ceremony, Harry Styles' dancers faced immediate confusion when the stage began to turn the wrong way from what they had practiced.
Due to this mistake, the dancers had to perform their routine in reverse. Some of the choreographers and dancers involved have taken to social media to dampen criticism of their performance.
Choreographer Dexter Da Roach said on TikTok that the elaborate routine had been rehearsed extensively for ten days. While the stage was rotating the wrong way "there was nothing we could do to stop it," dancer Brandon Mathias added in a Instagram Story.
“To switch all those patterns around on the spot, having not even walked in that direction, it sounds easy,” Da Rocha said in a video on TikTok.
“Since it’s circular, it pulls you in different directions and is such a special type of balance. We got accustomed to one way, and it was the opposite way. Luckily we worked together and did our best and got to one cool formation in time for the overhead shot, but had to change the rest”.

Styles appeared at his performance at the Grammys in a shiny silver suit with fringe. Aside from the ongoing mishaps, Styles and the backup dancers delivered an impressive rendition of the global No.1 hit, which appeared on his third album.
Still, the night ends well for Styles with a surprise win for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Harry's House, much to the disappointment of Beyonce fans.
The "Bey Hive" wanted the Renaissance legend to nab her first Album of the Year award on the evening she broke records for the most Grammy wins of all time (32).
