One of our fave-est clubs is throwing a bash – and they’ve invited one heck of a special guest!
In Dublin, Larp Beats are preparing to mark their second birthday in style. Green, bespectacled style that is. That’s right, none other than Belgium’s Dr. Lektroluv is making an appearance at the celebrations. He’ll be administering a dose of heavy four–four beats. The Doctor’s new single, ‘Emolotion’, lands on Lektroluv Records this November. The bash is going down October 4 at The Academy with Flash Wilson, The Dirtbirdz and Bueller for support. Doctor’s orders! Check www.facebook.com/events/458931960871278/
Longtime Bedrock Records collaborators John Digweed and Nick Muir have teamed up with a slew of fellow heavyweight producers for a collaborative effort on their upcoming Versus album, due out October 7. The three–disc release features collisions with Jamie Stevens, Marzzco Bailey, The Japanese Popstars, Christian Smith, Carlio Lio, Pig&Dan, jozif, Whebba, Ian O’Donovan – and our very own club-destroying duo Psycatron AKA Paul Hamill and Dave Lievense!
Chatting to She’s Electric, Paul Hamill says: “Our part of the collaboration process was inspired by one of our first clubbing experiences at Sugar Sweet back in the ‘90s.” Check soundcloud.com/bedrock_rec/bedawake-john-digweed-nick
Speaking of Psycatron, their record label, Inflyte, has just released the debut EP from Amsterdam’s long–time Trouw Club resident, Nuno Dos Santos. His ‘Mon Toy EP’ is Inflyte’s fifth outing and comes with mixes from Gregor Tresher. www.beatport.com/label/inflyte-records/25241/releases
Belfast producer Phil Kieran’s new outfit, Le Carousel, are chasing away our post–summer blues with their ‘Le Carousel Remixed’ package. Be ready to combust with mixes from Andrew Weatherall, David Holmes, Max Cooper, The Hacker, Roel Hoogendoorn, Ivan Smagghe, Felix Martin of Hot Chip and Jesse Somfay! It’s out now! Dublin producer and Minus Records heavy–weight Matador is about to embark on an American tour. This caps off an immense 12 months for our hometown guy. He has remixed Depeche Mode, Moby and Booka Shade – who, on a side note, play The Button Factory, December 14. Catch Matador at what will be his last Irish gig of 2013, courtesy of Culture Shock, on October 10 at The Twisted Pepper. Support from Aaron Nolan and Con and Cian. www.facebook.com/events/163638373830069/
