O'Connor has Irish roots and is about to make a special visit to the county
Award-winning British singer/songwriter Hazel O'Connor will delight audiences with a soulful medley of tunes -both old and new - next week.
Hazel will be accompanied by Clare Hirst on sax (David Bowie) and Sarah Fisher on keyboards (Eurythmics). The trio are set to deliver a vibrant performance by showcasing music from the iconic 1980 film Breaking Glass. Songs like 'Big Brother' and 'Eighth Day' will rise from the soundtrack in honor of the film's 35th anniversary. Hazel's timeless songs ring true today. Lyrics from 'Eight Day' remind us about the future and man's obsession with technology, "On the sixth man prepares his final dream/In our image, let's make robots for our slaves/Imagine all the time that we can save/Computers, machines, the silicon dream.".
Watch O'Connor take the stage at Purty Kitchen, Monkstown on Saturday, October 22 at 10PM. For a supper before the show, doors open at 7:30PM. For show only, doors at 9:30PM
