To tie in with Hot Press's environment special, we're encouraging you to make your opinion on climate change heard.
Are you concerned about climate change? Do you think Ireland is doing its fair share to prevent climate chaos in the future? The Government wants to know what you think Ireland should do to reduce our carbon emissions. This is a chance to have your say and play your part.
Ireland's climate pollution has risen by almost twice the amount allowed under the Kyoto Protocol. Now the Government is saying it will develop a new Climate Change Strategy and they have invited the public to make recommendations until 30 September. And they prefer submissions by email to [email protected]. Friends of the Earth have created a facility on their website www.climatepledge.ie to help you have your say in a matter of minutes.
You can send a ready-made submission using their suggestions or you can pick and mix from their ideas, edit or discard them, and add your own. You can register your concern in a couple of clicks or you can put together a whole policy portfolio. Either way, each submission the government gets will mean they take the issue more seriosuly.
If we act now we still have time to prevent climate change have catastrophic consequences.
