The video arrives shortly before the band are due to play shows across Ireland this summer
Hermitage Green have released the music video for their latest single 'Driftin'.
The clip is directed by filmmaker Shane Serrano and depicts flashbacks of a would-be space explorer on the brink of reaching a new frontier - an apt visual accompaniment to a song which saw the five-piece depart from their trademark folk sound.
"'Driftin' is a song about a paradigm shift in perspective when someone experiences a life changing event or moment,” said the band's Barry Murphy upon the track's initial release.
“Whether it’s when you lose a loved one, become a parent for the first time or make life changing choices we are all simultaneously completely alone and completely connected drifting through space on a giant rock so best we look after one another.”
The video, added the band in a statement, "examines how unpredictable life is on this earth and that it is up to us to find ways to succeed against the odds and to hold on to what is most dear to us."
