It really does feel like it’s a case of when, not if, this thrillingly menacing quintet crack the big time. Calling to mind the similarly named (and perhaps minded?) Murder City Devils, especially in terms of the leather lunged vocal delivery, this Dublin based bunch are clearly very fucked off with the world, and have channelled that rage into life-affirming three-minute bursts of caustic punk and steely eyed post-punk. As mean and commanding as Thanos suffering from a week-old hangover, frontman James McGovern is a force of nature and anyone who grew up in a proverbial “teenage wasteland” will also identify with their monstrous outsider anthem ‘More Is Less’.
