Hot for 2019 Irish Acts: Susie Blue
Susan Donaghy was seven when she was given her first guitar, and shortly thereafter started bashing out Beach Boys covers. Soon after that, she began writing her own songs, before arriving on the NI music scene in 2013. Last year was a big one for the rechristened Blue, as she unleashed her euphoric debut Didn’t Mean To Care. A record that wrapped cathartic tales of pride and positivity around stadium-ready choruses, it was a big moment for an artist who has already played Glastonbury, Electric Picnic and more. Bolstered by her rock solid live band, we predict Blue’s purple patch will extend well into 2019 and beyond.
