Check out their debut EP, Uncomfortable, below.
For the last decade, the output of Gary Lightbody’s Third Bar artist development company has kicked as much ass as Katie Taylor’s highlight reel. Their latest recruits maintain those high standards and, in our humble opinion, are one of the most exciting and inspiring acts to emerge from the Northern capital in quite some time. The self-described queerpunk quintet write songs about “sexuality, life under capitalism and how those intersect with anxiety, depression and a perpetual fear of talking to girls”. The likes of ‘This City’ and ‘Mr Gumble’ are life-affirming slabs of indie, and absolutely essential listening.
