The post-punk band Hot Malibu Flush drops their second single, 'Too Much,' after announcing plans to play for Glastonbury Festival
The electronic, techno indie, and Euro disco band Hot Malibu Flush just dropped their second track 'Too Much.'
Composed of singer and guitarist Luigi Tiberio and modular artist Tim Bleasdale, the duo defines their music as a fusion of post-punk and new wave. 'Too Much' itself is an 80's inspired single meant to get you dancing.
Like their debut 'Make it Matter,' 'Too Much' is a part of Hot Malibu Flush's upcoming, self-titled debut album. It's set to be out March 2023 via Neon Tetra Records, produced by Tony Doogan at Glasgow's Castle of Doom Studios. Doogan also produced rock band Mogwai's music.
Already playlisted by BBC Radio 6 Music and uplifted by support from RTÉ Entertainment, the London based band is set to play Glastonbury festival on June 24th, on the Rabbit Hole Stage.

“On ‘Too Much’, we originally started playing around this synth riff that made me think of the 70s electronica a la Giorgo Morodor style with those fat square wave tones in your face sort of sound," Tiberio explains.
Bleasdale contributed his own take about the foundations they built their musical style on, unravelling the two's experimental and explosive foray into commercial music.
“Musically, we’re trying to pick out the discordant elements of the melody and build the texture of those, getting more aggressive as the song spins on. It’s almost like the call and response you’d get on a blues track, I think this comes from doing everything live."
He also adds that the new single touches on mental health, as will most of their other tracks.
"It is quite cliché, but I’ve had a lot of reflection around the mental health of musicians in a post pandemic world. The internal dialogue happens between our main character and his mind, almost like a heated conversation with his consciousness."
