Hot Press and the IBI have announced a brand new dimension to Irish Music Month this year...
In addition to our search for A New Local Hero, Irish Music Month is also aiming to unearth a cracking, originally composed song as Gaeilge.
Tá an-chuid ceoltóirí agus cumadóir amhrán ag obair as Gaeilge anois – agus an sárobair a dhéanann siad .
Amhrán an Laoch means the song of the hero (or the hero’s song) – so if you're writing songs through Irish – or using Irish extensively – get a recording or a demo done and upload that song or track via the special Amhrán an Laoch form below.
Closing date is Wednesday 18th September.
We’re not against throwing in a bit i mBéarla. The rules stipulate that at least 50% of the song must be in Irish. But don’t forget that what the judges will really want to see in your work is the brilliant use of the Irish language.
