The Waterford rapper was tipped as one of our 'Hot For 2020' Irish Artists.
Following the success of 'Smooth With It', Pat Lagoon is back with a new single, 'Take Time'.
The smooth new track further showcases The Goon's refusal to be boxed into any easily defined hip-hop subgenre. Exploring themes of lust and love, the single was composed and produced by Cxdy, of American beat empire Internet Money.
"I saw a message request from Cxdy saying 'Let's work'," he reveals in a statement about the release. "It was kind of surreal as I've spent most of the summer learning about Internet Money and listening to beats and tracks produced by that collective, so for Cxdy to hit me up all the way from the US before signing to IM was crazy for me."
"The instrumental just hit different and the writing process was very smooth," he continues. "It's probably one of my favourite tracks I have made to this day."
Tipped as one of our 'Hot For 2020' Irish Artists, Pat Lagoon has crossed over from Soundcloud obscurity to become a formidable presence on the Irish scene over the last two years – with releases that swing effortlessly between hip-house, old school rap and trap. Since first emerging in 2018, the Waterford artist has also made a splash internationally, with his RikShaw collaboration 'Shining' featuring on Antony Fantano's hugely popular YouTube channel.

The artwork for 'Take Time' was created by fellow Waterford native Gaho Chu.
"I really like having my work brought to life by people from Waterford or nearby," The Goon says. "It keeps it very organic and uplifting."
