In the new issue, we celebrate the Irish emerging artists set to make a splash in the months ahead.
The Hot Press Hot For 2021 Special Issue is out today – which means we can finally reveal our Hot For 2021 Irish Acts!
In the new issue – in shops and available to order online now – we take a comprehensive look at the emerging artists destined for stardom in the coming months.
At the start of last year, here in Hot Press we produced our Hot For 2020 list, in a spirit of huge optimism and positivity. Many of the artists have since made fantastic progress – but the truth is that the pandemic interrupted all our plans, in the most extraordinary way, leaving a lot of people gasping for air when they should have been scaling the heights. Many of these – the likes Denise Chaila, Malaki, Joy Crookes, Aoife Nessa Francis, Kynsy and JC Stewart – will take up where they left off, reaching for the stars over the coming 12 months. Meanwhile, Ireland is fast establishing a reputation as perhaps the greatest source of talent in the world of contemporary music. That is reflected in the remarkable collection of 50-plus outstanding artists the Hot Press panel of experts and critics have selected as Hot For 2021.
In a world of shuttered music venues and snatched-away opportunities, Ireland’s music community continues to defy the odds – with young, emerging artists defiantly rising above seemingly insurmountable challenges, and flying the flag for their country. This bold energy, independent ethos and genre-defying talent is evident across our list – which features artists from every corner of Ireland.
So, without further ado, meet our 'Hot For 2021' Irish Acts. You can also listen to our Spotify Playlist, which has all of our Hot for 2021 must-hear songs:
