The series kicks off tomorrow, on the 25th anniversary of the classic album.
To mark the 25th anniversary of Oasis' era-defining second album, (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, Hot Press are teaming up with nine rising stars and a 60-strong school choir – as we celebrate the iconic release with performances of the songs from the album, from 'Hello' through to 'Champagne Supernova'.
Since its release through Creation Records on October 2, 1995, (What's The Story) Morning Glory? has come to be considered one of the seminal records of the '90s. As the UK's best-selling album of the decade, it spent 10 weeks at No.1 on the Albums Chart, and fought off stiff competition from Blur and Radiohead to take home the award for British Album of The Year at the 1996 BRITs.
As part of our 25th anniversary performance series, we'll be presenting covers of the songs from (What's The Story) Morning Glory? from 10 Irish acts – including Happy Out, Dea Matrona, Somebody's Child, Shaefri, Touts, The Clockworks, Steo Wall, Crome Yellow, Nile St. James – and the St. Andrew's College Choir.
Kicking off on the album's official anniversary tomorrow, October 2, you can expect the performances to be shared at 7pm daily on hotpress.com and the Hot Press YouTube channel!
Spread the word and stay tuned – It is going to be a hell of a week of great Oasis tunes – so
