Curated by SOFFT Nights, 'Until the Dew Falls' will be live online at 7pm at the same time and date as Dunderry Park's 'Until the Harvest Comes' event.
In celebration of the Autumn Equinox, Sofft Nights will be producing a live performance film, shot on location in the beautiful Co. Meath, at the historic site of the Loughcrew cairns and estate.
The Autumn Equinox marks the two moments in the year when the sun is exactly above the equator and day and night are of equal length. As the stretch in the evenings draws shorter and the air turns cooler, the oncoming turn of the season ought to be celebrated in some form. Enter: Until The Dew Falls...
The beautiful film will take you on a visual and musical journey through Ireland's ancient beliefs, rituals and ties to the Autumn Equinox. Featuring a lineup of local opera singers, contemporary musicians, dancers and poetry, Sofft Nights have devised the perfect plan to bring you a truly magical experience
Loughcrew cairns, also known as the Hills of the Witch, are a group of Neolithic passage tombs near Oldcastle in County Meath. Spread over four undulating peaks, the tombs are of great antiquity, dating to 3000 BC. They represent our ancestors' relationship with the sky and the Autumn Equinox, and are the perfect setting for the project.
Until the Dew Falls will be released online on September 25th at 7pm, premiering on the Hot Press YouTube channel. The film will also be broadcast live at the same time and date at Sofft Nights' live event, Until the Harvest Comes.
This magical occasion will take place once again in Dunderry park, and will feature a live line up of incredible musical acts for you to enjoy - including Those Nervous Animals, Hamsandwich, Oliver Cole, Paddy Smith Band, Joy Booth and Bernadette Nic Gabhann - as well as the film broadcast. Tickets are €25 and are available here.
