Irish Indie-Folk musician Ailbhe Reddy is back with stunning new single ‘Shame’.
After releasing ‘Nothing to Doubt’ earlier this year, Ailbhe has gone from strength to strength with a number of festival performances, including Forbidden Fruit where she joined Róisín Dwyer at The Hot Press’ Speakeasy stage (see below). With critically acclaimed songs like ‘Distrust’ and ‘Relent’, the Dublin born singer has won the hearts of Irish music lovers and an international audience alike, playing sold out shows in London and Toronto amongst others.
Her newest single ‘Shame’ is more energetic, more revealing and darker than anything we have heard from Ailbhe before. Dealing with the issue of mental health, it offers an attempt to name the overwhelming feelings connected to depression.
“Shame is the word that sums up so much of what holds people back and keeps people down. A pre-cursor for my own experience of struggling with depression and feeling afraid to talk about it. I also wanted to write a song about depression you could kinda dance to,” she explains.
‘Shame’ will be available on all platforms tomorrow, but you can listen to it here before - to convince yourself of Ailbhe’s mesmerising voice!
