Today's Track Of The Day goes to Molly Sterling for her new single, 'Stripped Down'.
Dropping this morning, the Dublin-based singer-songwriter's second release had big boots to fill following Sterling's 2017 debut of 'Plain Static.' But with the production help of Derry artist Ryan Vail, fill it does.
'Stripped Down' is true to the style the songstress has already carved for herself at just 20 years old.
With powerhouse vocals, rumbling instrumentals and hard-hitting lyrics, Sterling delivers a concoction of raw emotion.
Piano notes initially mix with softer vocals. The song's instrumentals build to a cathartic release in an exhibition of the pain that bore it into being.
"‘Stripped Down’ explores all the darkness within my relationship with my sexuality, and the people who have affected that relationship," Sterling says of the track. "When I wrote this song all I wanted was for people to take responsibility for how they had mistreated me, knowing I would never actually receive closure from them."

"But it also made me confront myself and take ownership of who I was. It’s the only space in my life where I get to confront that part of my past. What this song has allowed me to do a hundred times over, is slowly dissolve pain that I had felt for a long time."
After another ace release, we're excited to see how Sterling puts her songwriting skills and impressive instruments to future use. But with her voice being the most impressive of all, we're sure it's only onwards and upwards.
