This is the latest single from Donegal four piece alternative rock band In Their Thousands.
‘Acrasia’ is the title track to their debut album, which is set to be released later this year. The album was produced by Mercury Prize nominated producer Tommy McLaughlin, who has produced music for both BellX1 and Villagers.
Speaking about the new single, the band said: “Acrasia is a word used in philosophy to describe the state of mind where a person is acting against what they know to be 'right'...The concept for the song came out of that general idea.”
‘Acrasia’ begins slowly but builds with the help of the effortless guitar and drum rhythms. The strong lead vocals from Ruairi Friel, reminiscent of an early Bono, are complimented perfectly by the rest of the group. As the song builds in intensity, the lyrics “I don’t want to waste the moment” ring out a cry of urgency.
