The much-hyped folk guitarist and singer-songwriter from Limerick has released her new video for ‘Tug O’ War’.
'Tug O' War' is a rousing acoustic/gospel ballad which meets anxiety head on. Emma is soberingly straightforward in her lyrics, as she name-checks the everyday tasks which are made all the more difficult by having to carry around her inner anxiety.
Writing about the song, Emma says: "I've tried SO many times to describe how I felt when I wrote Tug O' War, but Kate Laver's music video combining live action and animation does a better job than my words ever could.
The day I wrote the song was a low point, when the ball of anxiety in my stomach was a lead weight pinning me down, I couldn't find it in myself to talk to anyone about it, and I really felt like I wasn't able to live up to the standards I'd set for myself. The music pulled me through - I count myself so lucky that I have music to help to work a lot of these things out.
My personal experience is just that, but if you've ever felt anxious, panicked, overwhelmed and just not able to change out of your PJ's and face the world I hope this song and video go some way to telling you that you are abso-bloody-lutely not alone ?‘?
Everyone carries their own demons through the day, and it's okay to give yourself space and time to deal with them... And then tell 'em to FECK off.

I'd like to thank Kate, the crew, and cast for doing a really truly wonderful job in telling my story. They never once met me but somehow got it so right.
And thank you for watching x"
