Rising Irish indie rock / post-punk band Brass Phantoms enlighten their fans' hearts, having released their new single 'Disciples' in March.
An energising track kicking off with drums and repeating melodic guitar lines, 'Disciples' introduces the listener to the stylish, yet sorrowful tone of singer Ryan Cashell. As the song continues, his passion creates a powerful, intended nostalgia leaving the listener behind with nothing to hold onto except a gleam of hope created by the repeating chorus - "The only hope for you now is the life you leave behind". After the second verse, the guitar takes over and slowly leads towards the track's end, accompanied by the echoing sound from the chorus.
"'Disciples' is a big step forward for us as a band. We hope to occupy the melodic space we've captured with past releases, but build on this with a darker undertone and a bigger sound", guitarist James Geraghty said on the track, and we can do nothing more than nod in agreement and eagerly wait for their gig in The Workman's Club on May 17.
Till then, check out the equally powerful video to 'Disciples'!
