The Dublin band's newest release was recorded with Declan Legge and features mixing credits from Grammy Award-winning producer BrianMalouf.
'L.A.Z.Y' is a typically rousing indie anthem from the Dublin quartet, with thoughtful riffs and harmonies.
“L.A.Z.Y. was a track that came about really quickly for us,” explains Orchid Collective’s vocalist and guitarist Shea Tohill.
“It all stems from when [fellow Orchid Collective bandmate] Dave and I were living together. We used to jam in our living-room every morning, not seriously trying to write or anything, just jamming. I was playing with my guitar pedal and one of the riffs for ‘L.A.Z.Y.’ just sort of came out and found its way onto the guitar loop. As soon as we heard it, Dave quickly laid down some lyrics and before we knew it we had the skeleton of a song right there.
“We played the track throughout the summer at every gig and festival that we could. It always seemed to go down really well, the audience was really getting behind it, so we decided, ‘OK, let’s go with this for our new single.’

“‘L.A.Z.Y.’ was recorded in Big Space Studios, in Newry, with Declan Legge. We finished it early in September and then over the course of the month we managed to get in contact with a guy called Brian Malouf, over in LA, who seemed really interested in us and he offered to mix the track. That was incredible, because he’s a Grammy Award winner and has worked with the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson and Pearl Jam over the years. He’s given the track that extra polish that we were looking for."
