The title track from his second album, featuring The Ulster String Quartet, is being released with the support of The Belfast Samaritans.
According to Murphy, recording ‘Sleep Tonight’ helped the Irish singer-songwriter through the loss of his beloved mother who had passed away unexpectedly. She had suffered from mental illness.
The track expresses Murphy’s pain by a melancholic and rhythmic tone. He underlines the song's message with the repeating chorus finishing off with the words ‘I’ll sleep tonight’. Implying that the sleep ‘echoes the noises of the day away’.
Throughout the second verse he discovers that he might not be alone with these thoughts in mind, beginning to think more positively. This is followed by a sweeping instrumental from the Quartet.
The six-and-a-half-minute production brings together all of Robb's creative endeavours.
