For those who haven't seen him, be prepared for Nile Rodgers to throw out the line, "Yes, it's hard to believe but I did make all these songs", after lashing out something like Duran Duran's 'Notorious' or Bowie's 'Let's Dance'. One of the greatest hitmakers of the last 40 yea- scratch that, of all time, we take a walk down memory lane...

'Everybody Dance'

Norma Jean Wright and Luther Vandross teamed up with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards for the first song that was written specifically for Chic. One of their most popular, expect to see it as the set opener.

'Le Freak'

Studio 54 rued the day whenever they failed to let Nile Rodgers into their most exclusive of establishments. Legend has it that Rodgers and Bernard Edwards devised the song during New Year's Eve of 1977, as a result of them being refused entrance to the club, where they had been invited by Grace Jones. He claimed that the lyrics of the refrain were originally "Fuck off!" rather than "Freak out!"

'Good Times'

The simplest message in music with one of the catchiest beats to back it. 'Good Times' has reached a mythic status since its release in 1979. The disco sound went on to become a bedrock for the emergence of rap music into the mainstream, and it remains one of the most sampled basslines in modern history. Simply one of the best songs of all time.

'He's The Greatest Dancer'

Long before Will Smith got jiggy with it, the funky disco beat of 'He's The Greatest Dancer' belonged to Sister Sledge.

'I'm Coming Out'

The direction for Diana Ross' self-titled 1980 album was sealed whenever she asked for Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards help on it. It spawned hits such as 'Upside Down' and 'My Old Piano', but undoubtedly the finest track on the album is the celebratory 'I'm Coming Out'.

'Let's Dance'

Bowie, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Nile Rodgers. Simply glorious.

'Notorious'

Clearly no fools, Duran Duran cottoned on after Sister Sledge, Diana Ross and David Bowie that Nile Rodgers knew how to make a hit. 'Notorious' was a global success for new wave band in 1986.
