The third in a special series of videos, curated by Hot Press, sees the rising young pop singer Fia Moon delivering a bold take on Christmas favourite 'Silent Night'.
Hot Press has launched the video of Dublin-raised singer-songwriter Fia Moon performing her take on classic choral number 'Silent Night' as part of the To Be Irish at Christmas initiative.
Fia Moon's stunning video is the third in the series of four, which Hot Press has titled Have A Good One. The series kicked off earlier this week with Wallis Bird’s lovely, pyjama-clad performance of her original song ‘I Don’t Mind Christmas Time’ and Lea Heart's beautiful 'You Make It Feel Like Christmas’. Aimée – one of the hottest Irish talents signed to Universal Music – will round out the series with ‘What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?' (a song made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, among others). The four intimate performances aim to capture the spirit of what it means To Be Irish at Christmas.
Last year's debut edition of To Be Irish, curated by the Department of Foreign Affairs, was an instant success, bringing families together virtually with loved ones – and offering cherished cultural reminders when those who were abroad needed it most. 2021's version is now up and running, with an exhilarating line-up of hybrid and in-person events being planned.
The uniquely Irish sense of song as a form of togetherness is precisely what we want to celebrate in Have A Good One. So make sure to check out these four brilliant videos by Irish women, as they convey the feelings of love and solidarity that we all hope for at this time of year.
Fia Moon began 2021 on a high, with news that she was included as one of Hot Press’ Hot For 2021 artists, and her single ‘XX’ was named no.5 in Hot Press’s Top 50 Tracks Of The Year. The artist's independent and DIY approach to releasing music is continuously paying off, with her first release ‘better days’ reaching No.13 on the Official Irish Homegrown Chart.

Fia's latest radio play figures total 25 million impacts, resulting in her being the 4th most played independent female Irish act in 2020. The Dubliner has graced the cover of two Spotify editorial playlists, ‘New Pop UK’ and ‘A Breath of Fresh Eire’, while also passing 1.5 million streams. Her most recent single 'Simple' was released back in August, premiering on Tracey Clifford's 2FM show. Written over Zoom in collaboration with Bill Maybury and Austin Ward, only the vocals were recorded in person, in Dublin’s Clinic studios.
