Bringing some of the most hotly tipped Irish talent to you via Instagram Live, the Hot Press Y&E Series is revived tomorrow with a special performance from the opener of an enticing lineup, Aaron J. Performances will stream daily over the next two weeks at 7pm through the Hot Press Instagram.
Presented conjointly with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, this new edition of the Y&E Series will comprise of 40 shows and commences with three new acts over the first three days: Aaron J, Darian June and Paddy Keyes.
Dublin-based singer-songwriter Aaron J makes headway as the opening stream of the series, performing Wednesday, October 11 on live. He might be recognised by his hit debut single ‘Show Pain,’ but the up-and-coming Irish talent has earned a widespread and well-deserved audience around the globe since his emergence in 2018. With gut-punching lyricism and a knack for earworm melodies, Aaron J has been pinned as “a pop artist that makes you feel things.” As the singer’s performances at Electric Picnic and Longitude have proven, his live set kicking off the Y&E series is one you won’t want to miss.

Taking over the second day of the series on Thursday, October 12, Darian June is hot on the rise since becoming one of the 2023 national finalists of the A New Local Talent Search. The Cork-bred singer-songwriter has been hard at work releasing new music throughout the year, with her latest release being the evocative single ‘Temporary Lover.’ Lucky then she’s making time to sit down, pause the noise of the outside world, and share an intimate live stream performance with her Y&E series audience.
Paddy Keyes has gone from strength to strength this year, now adding his forthcoming Y&E set to a long list of accomplishments for the Sligo-born, Dublin-raised singer-songwriter. From headlining the Workman’s Club to making his festival debut at Otherside, to releasing a stream of well-received singles, 2023 has been, to say the least, a turning point year for Keyes. He will perform on Friday, October 13, with a setlist sure to captivate as strongly as his dazzling live performances.
The weekend takeover will be fronted by Laura Jo, winner of the 2023 A New Local Hero Wildcard Award. Sunday will feature a heartfelt set from Dave Lofts, whose husky vocals and homegrown sound are the cherry on top of a long week; plus, Loft’s collaboration with backing band S.A.N.D. ensures the singer-songwriter has a lengthy catalogue to divulge.
Taking zero pause, the series returns next Monday, October 16 with a new week featuring performances from Leila Jane, Mark Caplice, Sammy Copley, Krea, Bernard M and the list goes on. Check out the first 15 days Y&E Series lineup now!
